1. Data Controller

Your personal data is processed by Barış Demirel ("Michord"), operator of the Michord application, for the purposes described below. Contact: info@michord.com

2. Data We Process

• Account data: your email address and password (the password is stored irreversibly by our authentication provider; we cannot see your plaintext password).
• Subscription/licence status: plan (free/monthly/yearly), status, and validity date.
• Technical/operational logs: limited logs needed for security and operation of the service.

Your music stays on your device: the notes and chords you play and all audio processing happen locally on your computer; your musical content is not sent to or stored on our servers.

3. Purposes and Legal Bases

• Creating your account and enabling sign-in — performance of a contract.
• Managing your subscription/access rights — performance of a contract.
• Security, abuse prevention, and legal obligations — legitimate interest / legal obligation.

4. Sharing and Third Parties

Your data is shared with the following providers solely to deliver the service:

• Supabase — authentication and database (servers in the European Union / Frankfurt region).
• Payment provider (e.g. Polar) — processing subscription payments. Your card/payment details are not passed to us; the provider's privacy policy applies.

Where international transfers occur, safeguards required by applicable law are taken into account.

5. Retention

We retain your account and subscription data while your account is active and as required by legal retention obligations. When you delete your account, personal data other than what is legally required is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period.

6. Your Rights

Under KVKK and (where applicable) GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data, object to processing, and request portability. To exercise these rights, contact info@michord.com.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

The desktop app keeps your session and preferences (e.g. language, plan status) in local storage on your device. The marketing website uses local storage to remember your language preference; it does not use tracking/advertising cookies.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data (irreversible password storage, access controls, encrypted connections). No system is 100% secure; we exercise reasonable care.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. We will announce material changes reasonably and indicate the update date above.
